Matthew J. Pero is an Of Counsel in AFRCT’s litigation department.
He specializes in business, banking, and real estate litigation in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. His practice has concentrated on creditor rights in bankruptcy, real estate title disputes, and business litigation matters.
Matt has extensive trial and arbitration experience in a broad range of civil litigation matters. He has successfully prosecuted a number of nursing home neglect and professional liability cases and has obtained a unanimous jury verdict finding of fraud on behalf of multiple franchisee plaintiffs.
Matt graduated from Loyola Law School in 1987, where he was a member of the International and Comparative Law Journal and represented the law school in regional competitions of the Jessup International Honors Moot Court Program.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola Marymount University in 1979, where he graduated with honors. He is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of California, all Districts of the United States District Court in California, and the Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys piano, golf, and spending time with family and friends.
