Debbi Moore is the senior estate planning paralegal specialist in AFRCT’s estate planning and trust administration group and has over 25 years of experience in estate planning, gift and estate taxation, and death administration. Debbi earned her degree in legal studies at the University of West Los Angeles where she graduated as the salutatorian of her class. She was recruited upon graduation by the Los Angeles tax firm of Irell & Manella where she worked for 14 years assisting attorneys with estate, gift, asset protection, and charitable planning for high net worth clients. During the course of her paralegal career, Debbi has worked with both large and mid-sized law firms and is a specialist in drafting complex revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, and other estate planning documents.
Having a keen interest in the development of the estate planning and probate paralegal profession, Debbi taught the estate planning class at the School of Paralegal Studies at the University of West Los Angeles to aspiring paralegals and continues to mentor those in the paralegal profession who express an interest in the estate planning, tax and probate area.
Prior to finding her way into the paralegal profession, Debbi was a flood plain and disaster specialist with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”) in Washington, D.C., and worked with developers who were developing tracts in flood plain areas. She also did extensive field work as a FEMA representative at disaster sites assisting displaced victims with housing needs.
Her late husband, Steven Moore, worked for Lockheed Martin, and was a nationally known aviation artist whose works hang in the Pentagon and White House and are distributed in aviation and military art galleries across the United States. Her two daughters are college students at the University of California at San Diego and Davis.
Debbi can be reached by telephone at 626-535-1900, ext. 225, or by e-mail at dmoore@afrct.com.
