Richard Rasmussen is a founding partner of the firm and he specializes in the areas of corporate transactions, commercial real estate, finance and general business law.

 

Rich represents public and privately held companies in a variety of industry sectors, handling mergers, stock and asset purchase transactions, private offerings, entity structuring, tax exempt bond financing, and general business contracts and transactions.

 

His extensive background also includes the negotiation and documentation of complex real estate matters, including commercial property acquisitions, secured financing on behalf of lenders and borrowers, brokerage and escrow arrangements, and lease (ground, office and retail) transactions.  Rich was a contributing author to “Resolving Real Estate Title Defects” (National Business Institute, 2008), “Keys to Success in Real Estate Transactions in California” (Lorman, 2005), and “Real Estate Purchase and Sale Transactions” (Sterling, 2005).

 

Rich graduated cum laude from Loyola Law School in 1987, and was a member of the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society. He received his undergraduate degree from Biola College in 1980. Rich was a tennis professional between college and law school. Rich is rated “AV” (highest rating) by Martindale Hubbell, the national directory of attorneys.

  • - Represented owner in sale of equipment manufacturing business to U.S. public corporation
  • - Represented buyer in acquisition of national franchise
  • - Represented owner of financial services business in $36 million sale of assets to Swedish public company
  • - Represented seller of retail shopping center and adjacent gas station
  • - Represented principals in formation of real estate brokerage company and escrow business
  • - Handled private equity placement for new restaurant concept
  • - Represented lender in construction financing for auto dealership

 

When not working on Firm matters, Mr. Rasmussen enjoys traveling, deep sea fishing, hitting the golf ball and tennis ball, reading (especially theology) and rooting for the San Francisco Giants.
